INTERPHEX 2026 Recap: Where Innovation Took Center Stage
INTERPHEX 2026 brought together the latest in pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing, spotlighting key trends in AI, automation, and modular system design. STEQ America showcased integrated solutions demonstrating how these technologies are advancing aseptic processing, fill-finish operations, and modern manufacturing environments.
Over several high-energy days, our booth became a hub for connection and insight—where innovation wasn’t just discussed, but experienced firsthand.
A Strong Signal from the Industry
One theme stood out across nearly every conversation: the industry is accelerating with clear intent.
From AI-driven decision-making to increased automation and modular system design, attendees were focused on how to apply these concepts in practical, scalable ways. The depth of dialogue reflected a maturing industry, one prioritizing implementation, flexibility, and measurable impact over innovation alone.
AI in Focus: Advancing CCIT for IV Bags
A key conversation extended beyond the booth and into our panel on AI-based technology in post-sterilization CCIT (Container Closure Integrity Testing) for IV bags.
Leak detection in flexible IV bags remains a persistent challenge. Residual moisture from sterilization can mimic the vacuum
decay signature of a true leak, often causing conventional vacuum decay methods (VDM) to produce high false rejection rates.
The panel explored a neural network–based approach designed to address this issue. Instead of relying on fixed thresholds, the system evaluates the full pressure curve of each test cycle, using anomaly detection to differentiate between false signals and actual defects.
The result: improved accuracy and fewer unnecessary rejections, demonstrating how AI in pharmaceutical manufacturing is transitioning from concept to real-world application.
Panel participants included:
- Speaker: Gianmarco Pincelli – Bonfiglioli Engineering
- Moderators:
- Serena Santi – Bonfiglioli Engineering
- Massimo Consolaro – SYFPAC Brevetti Angela
- Rich Brunetti – STEQ America
This session reinforced a broader takeaway: AI is no longer theoretical—it’s being engineered into processes that solve real industry challenges.
Innovation in Action at the Booth
Our exhibit centered on a shared goal: demonstrating how integrated technologies can address real-world challenges in pharma manufacturing and aseptic processing.
Highlights included:
- The launch of the castus CSU beta bag, which quickly became a focal point for discussions on next-generation system capabilities
- The Bonfiglioli IVB-Flex, featuring an automated track system that balances flexibility with precision in inspection
- The IWT ASEPTICARE Isolator, paired with 3P fill-finish platforms and castus RTP system, illustrating how modular, interconnected systems are shaping advanced manufacturing
Together, these solutions illustrated a broader theme: adaptability through integration and forward-thinking design.
The Power of Collaboration
This experience was made possible by strong partnerships.
We were proud to share the booth with:
